Our Environment in Science
Updated on May 31, 2025 | By Learnzy Academy
Our environment consists of biotic (living) and abiotic (non-living) components that interact with each other.
Components:
- Biotic: Plants, animals, microorganisms.
- Abiotic: Air, water, sunlight, soil.
Ecosystem:
An ecosystem includes producers (plants), consumers (animals), and decomposers (fungi, bacteria).
Environmental Issues:
- Pollution – Harmful substances in air, water, and land.
- Deforestation – Loss of forests affects biodiversity.
- Global Warming – Increase in Earth's temperature.
- Ozone Depletion – Loss of ozone layer increases UV radiation.
