Steps for Making Tea: -
- Boil water in a kettle or saucepan. The water is the solvent in this case.
- Once the water boils, add tea leaves (the solute) to the water. The tea leaves are soluble in hot water, meaning they will dissolve to release their flavor and color.
- Stir the mixture to help the tea leaves dissolve faster and spread their essence throughout the water.
- Allow the tea to steep for a few minutes. As the tea leaves dissolve, the solution will become darker in color.
- After a few minutes, filter the tea using a strainer. The tea leaves, which are insoluble, will remain in the strainer as the residue.
- The liquid that passes through the strainer is the filtrate, which is your ready-to-drink tea.
